Sunday, 5th June 2016 - ANOUNCEMENT
Pleiades are hereby informing that 30 lawyers are to be participating in a first training of volunteer lawyers in the context of the Pleiades' -Hellenic Action for Human Rights programme for the legal protection of refugees.
Note that the participants will be called on to apply their gained knowledge in practice, within a strategic legal representation, participate in working groups which will process applications to the ECHR and the UN, rightful protection for refugees in practice.
This training is not, in size, an addition to the knowledge of the participants, but a vehicle for the de facto involvement with refugees' protection.
The training will take place at the ESHEA premises (Athens Daily Newspapers Union)(20 Academias Street) and will last from Monday, June 6 until Wednesday, June 8, 2016.

John Palmer, Marie Curie Researcher, Professor in University Pompeu Fabra inBarcelona, teaches in the Interdisciplinary Research Group on Immigration (GRITIM) GRITIM masters program, former UNHCR protection Officer «Questions of Evidence in Refugee Status Detrmination” 15:30–16:55 A group of (10) Masters' students of the Professor will be monitoring the intervention from Spain and have stated available to be utilized by Pleiades' legal dept as a working group on the documentation of strategic litigation projects. The utilization of academic interest and of civil society for the better and easier documentation of strategic litigation. The challenges in practice. "Creation of the first working teams". The training doesn't end with this meeting, it will continue in time, as will the cooperation between the members of the legal department. Judge Christos Rozakis, former Vice President of the European Court of Human Rights has also offered to participate in the training of the Pleiades legal team, explaining rightful dimensions and the decision of the case of M.S.S. v. Greece and Belgium, in a supplement training to take place after June 20th.
